Greetings all you girls and guys in 634, 734, & 834. The NYS Math test is being administered this week, but our genre studies continue. 634, you have begun to read and analyze your own Gary Paulsen books, as well as reading Woodsong in class. 734, you are beginning to compile survey questions, and will begin to conduct your survey as well as to tabulate the results for your polling report. 834, you will continue to read and analyze historical fiction excerpts, and begin to draft your historical fiction story.Homework is as follows:
Friday, 3/14/08
634: Continue reading in your Gary Paulsen book, per pacing calendar. Make an entry in your IRL. Visualize another scene and draw it in your Reader's Source Book. Write the excerpt that goes with the picture.
734: Complete your survey and tabulate the results. Bring completed survey and results to class on Monday.
834: Revise your introduction by adding more authentic details as well as imagined ones to develop your main character.
Thursday, 3/13/08
634: Read on in your Paulsen book per pacing calendar. Make an entry in your IRL.
734: Tabulate the results of your survey.
834: Revise and edit your introduction. Review your historical fiction book for test tomorrow.
Wednesday 3/12/08
634: Read in your Gary Paulsen book, per pacing calendar. Make an entry in your IRL. Be an inquisitor on post-its.
734: Continue to conduct your survey with family and friends.
834:Finish the historical fiction genre study worksheets. Review your book for test on Friday.
Tuesday 3/11/08
634:Read chapter 2 in your Paulsen book. Be an inquisitor on post-its. Make an entry in your IRL for chapter 2.
734: Revise your survey questions on loose leaf.
834: No new homework; we did not meet due to NYS math test.
Monday, 3/10/08
634: NYS Math tes; we did not meet. Make sure you have read Chapter 1 in your Gary Paulsen book and made an entry in your IRL.
734:Revise/ edit survey questions. Rewrite survey questions on loose leaf.
834: Make a chart of researched and imagined details from your historical fiction book. Include at least 5 of each.
