Greetings all you girls & guys in 634, 734, and 834. It is hard to believe we are approaching the end of February already. 634, you will be continuing to research your school issue, focusing on plausible solutions. 734, you will be doing research on your national issue. 834, you will be exploring the historical event that you will choose for your historical fiction story, as well as continuing to read in the historical fiction book you were given. This will be a busy week for all. In addition to continuing in your genre studies, you will all be taking the second Periodic Assessment this week in ELA. Also, parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for this Thursday 2/28. Homework is as follows:

Friday 2/29/08
634: Revise and edit draft#2. Rewrite draft #3 on loose leaf.
734: Continue using the 10 Star method to take notes on your research. Read in your independent book.
834 : Continue reading in your historical fiction book, per pacing calendar. Make an entry in your IRL. Add details to your lifestyle details chart.
Thursday 2/28/08
634: Revise and/or complete persuasive essay.
734: Half day; we did not meet.
834: Half day; we did not meet. Read on in your historical fiction book.

: Complete your conclusion for your persuasive essay in your writer's source book. Revise it and add it to your persuasive letter, on loose leaf.
734: Use the 10 Star Method to take more notes on your research in your writer's source book.
834: Continue reading in your historical fiction book, per pacing calendar. Make an entry in your IRL; add authentic details to your lifestyle chart.
Tuesday 2/26/08
634: Rewrite your proposal in letter form, addressing it to a person of authority. Do NOT conclude it until tomorrow.
734:Use the 10 Star Method to take notes on your research in your writer's source book.
834: Continue reading in your historical fiction book. Make an entry in your IRL. Add onto Lifestyle Details chart.
Monday 2/25/08
634: Revise your counterargument and your solution paragraphs on loose leaf.
734: Write a paragraph in your Writer's Source Book explaining the most interesting fact you found in your research.
834: Read on in your historical fiction book - per pacing calendar. Reread Roots excerpt, and list at least 5 traditions and lifestyle details for The Gambia in the 1750's.
