Week of May 29, 2007

Greetings all you girls and guys in 634, 734, and 834. It is the end of May, and the weather is getting much warmer as we are approaching June. 634, you have begun to read, analyze, and mimic Sandra Cisneros' vignettes. 734, you are finishing your Virginia Hamilton books, and analyzing her writing styles, themes, and lessons. 834, you are finishing your Ray Bradbury books, and are continuing to make note of his unique characters, settings and plots. Homework is as follows:


6/1/07
634: Final Seed Piece is due on loose leaf. Do not skip a space between lines. Complete your poetic prose in WSB.
734: In Reader's Source Book, write a literary letter on your Virginia Hamilton book.
834: Revise and edit your Bradbury paragraphs in your Reader's Source Book.
5/31/07
634: Finish the poetic prose vignette in your WSB.
734: Virginia Hamilton book test tomorrow.
834: Write a literary letter in your RSB, on your Ray Bradbury book.
5/30/07

634: Complete Draft #1 of "seed piece" on loose leaf. It should have 10 - 11 paragraphs. Follow teacher's model for ideas. Skip a space between each line.
734: Write a paragraph on Virginia Hamilton in your RSB. Don't forget to make an entry for it in the VH Table of Contents.
834: Revise and edit the first 2 paragraphs of the Ray Bradbury Response to Literature in your Reader's Source Book.
5/29/07
634: Rewrite your seed piece draft on loose leaf, skipping a space between each line.
734: Finish your Virginia Hamilton book by 5/30/07. Test on Friday.
834: (We did not meet due to senior trip.) Finish your Ray Bradbury boook by Friday. 6/1/07.

    Hi Kimberly. If you look at your 'seed piece organization' in your WSB, it says that Paragraph 1 mentions where you lived before - and who you live with. Paragraph 2 describes what your previous house was like. I hope that helps. See you tomorrow.
