Week of May 14, 2007

Greetings all you girls & guys in 634, 734, and 834. It is the middle of May already, and we are well into our author studies. 634, you are writing and revising your Gary Paulsen Response to Literature. 734, you are reading and analyzing Virginia Hamilton's works - both in and out of school. 834, you are reading and analyzing the unique Ray Bradbury. Homework is as follows:

5/17/07
634: Complete Draft #5 on loose leaf. (Final paper is due Tuesday, 5/22/07)
734: Read Chapter 11 in your VH books. Make an entry in your IRL. Write a literary letter on your VH book in your Reader's Source Book.
834: Reread Chapter 7 in your Ray Bradbury books. Fahrenheit 451 - Read through page 68. Make an entry in your IRL.
5/16/07

634: Complete Draft #4 on loose leaf. (Final paper is due Tuesday, 5/22/07.)
734: Read Chapter 10 in your VH book. Make an entry in you IRL.
834: Reread Chapter 6 in your Ray Bradbury book. Fahrenheit 451 Group- Read through the top of page 62.

634: Complete draft#3 on loose leaf.

734: Read Chapter 9 in your VH book. Make an entry in your IRL. Revise "On Demand" writing on loose leaf.
834: Reread Chapter 5 in your Ray Bradbury book. (Fahrenheit 451, reread through page 40.) Make an entry in your IRL. Revise "on Demand " writing on loose leaf.

634: Revise and rewrite draft # 2 of your Response to Literature on loose leaf.
734: Stations 1, 2, and 4 -Reread Chapters 1 - 4 in your VH book. Make sure your IRL entries reflect the main events in each chapter. Stations 3 & 5 -read Chapter 9 in your VH book. Make an entry in your IRL.
834: Stations 1, 2, 3 , 4 reread Chapters 1 - 4 in your Ray Bradbury book. Make sure your entries reflect the main events in each chapter. Use post-its to mark points of confusion. Station 5 - reread through page 31 in Fahrenheit 451. Use the post-its to mark points of confusion.

    Hi Ashley. You have to read over your first draft on Gary Paulsen's work and fix it. You have to add a sentence or two in the introduction that mentions a common Paulsen theme.
