Week of 4/2/07 - Spring Break

Greetings all you girls & guys in 634,734, and 834. I hope you are all enjoying your vacation -wherever you are! Just a little reminder of what needs to be done for ELA by Wednesday, 4/11/07 - the day we return to school.

634 - Those of you reading The Monument or Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen, need to finish the book, making an entry for each chapter in your IRL. Those of you reading your Paulsen book #2 (Danger on Midnight River or Tracker) need to have read through Chapter 5 of your new book, and make an entry in your IRL. Your Woodsong literary letter (if not already handed in) MUST be done. A literary letter on your first independent Paulsen book must also be handed in on loose leaf. The reader's response sheet in your homework packet can be on one of your Paulsen books.

734 - Conduct your survey on your issue for at least 20 people. Bring your completed questionnaires to class. Read your independent reading book, making an entry in your IRL's.
Complete the vacation packet for ELA.

834 - Finish your historical fiction books, making an entry in your IRL for each chapter.
Complete the journey cycle in your HF packet for the historical fiction character you made up.
Complete the vacation packet. The reader's response sheet may be on your HF book.

Kimberly, why didn't you take Gary Paulsen's book DANGER ON MIDNIGHT RIVER home? Maybe you can get a copy from the library. If not, you'll just have to do more reading when we get back. Have a good vacation.
