Week of 4/30/07

Greetings all you girls and guys in 634, 734, & 834. It is hard to believe May is already here. 634, you will be finishing The Crossing, and begin to write a Response to Literature for our Gary Paulsen Author Study. 734, you will be finishing your Executive Summary, and be introduced to Virginia Hamilton, your last author study. 834, you will continue to read and become immersed in the works of Ray Bradbury. Homework is as follows:

5/4/07
634: In Reader's Source Book, make an entry entitled: The Crossing. Write a summary of the book. Describe your reaction to this book's conclusion.
734: Read Chapter 1 and 2 in your Virginia Hamilton book. Make an entry in your IRL.
834: Revise/edit your response on loose leaf.
5/3/07

634: In RSB, write a paragraph answering this question: "Are Manny and Sergeant Locke good for each other?" Support your opinion using details from the book. Title your entry "Manny and Sergeant Locke."
734: Use your notes to write a paragraph about Virginia Hamilton on loose leaf. In RSB, make an entry: "My First Impression of VH's Books."
834: Reread "All Summer in A Day." Make entries under the 'Response' margin next to the lines that evoke a visualization, connection, questions or any other reflection.
5/2/07

634: Write a paragraph on loose leaf to explain why Sgt. Locke became upset at the bullfight.
734: Final Executive Summarey due.
834:Write an essay on loose leaf, explaining which Bradbury story you like best so far.
5/1/07

634: Complete 'Monitor for Meaning' chart. Read on in your Paulsen book.
734: Complete Draft #3 of your Executive Summary on loose leaf.
834: Be a psychologist for a character in your book.
4/30/07

634: In your Reader's Source Book, make an entry entitled, "Common Conflicts in Paulsen's Works." Write a paragraph about the common conflicts you noticed in Gary Paulsen's books. Complete the 'Monitoring for Meaning' chart.
734: Write Draft #2 of your Executive Summary on loose leaf.
834: Read "Uncle Einar" and complete pages 204-205 in your Ray Bradbury Packets.

    hey mrs varga i forgot my hw at skewl for sci and is due on monday. wat do i do???????????

    If you cannot get your homework from a friend before Monday, have your mother or father write a note to Dr. C asking if you can bring it in on Tuesday.
