Week of 11/20/06

Greetings all you girls and guys in 634, 734, and 834. Thanksgiving is just a few days away, and before long, we will be ushering in December. 634, you will be finishing up your Katherine Paterson Genre Study this month. 734, you will begin to research and organize your notes for your nonfiction children's book. 834, you will begin to think about and then research your topic for your journalistic feature article. In addition to this 6th, 7th, and 8th grades will be analyzing ELA type tests and test questions. We will all be looking at ELA tests as a 'genre.' Homework is as follows:
11/22/06
634: Finish reading your Katherine Paterson books. Make an entry in your IRL or SWBS chart for each chapter. Your charts will be collected on Monday. You should also make an entry in your Annotated Bibliography in your Reader's Source Book for the book you finished.

834: Begin to research information for your Journalistic Feature Article. Also, complete the worksheet on "6 Questions- J.K. Rowling." As always, read in your independent book.
