Week of 9/11/06

Greetings students of Class 634, 734, & 834. We remember the heroes of 9/11 this week, as we begin our genre studies. 634, we have begun to read and analyze Gary Soto's "The Jacket." 734, we will begin our Gary Soto author study. 834, we will begin our Walter Dean Myers author study.

You all did a great job on your Read/Write posters. Look for your poster on the walls of Room 155! Homework is as follows:

634 - Draw a picture of something you were able to visualize in your independent reading book.Copy the words that go with your visualization in quotes. Read for 40+ minutes. Fill in Independent Reading Log.
734 -Read for 40+ minutes. Complete your Indpendent Reading Log. Revise your constructed responses onto loose leaf.
834 - Complete your Constructed Responses. Read for 40+ minutes. Fill in your Independent Reading Log.

634 -On loose leaf, write a text to self connection for "The Jacket." Read 20+ minutes in your independent book. Fill in Independent reading Log.
734 - Read for 20+ minutes. Fill in your Independent Reading Log.
834- Read for 20+ minutes. Be a reverberator on loose leaf.

634 -Read for 20+ minutes. Fill in the Independent Reading Log worksheet.
734 - Read for 20+ minutes. Complete "What I Noticed About 'Seventh Grade' in RS.
834 - Reading HW:Write a paragraph explaining what WDM means when he says his parents were a 'bridge' he crossed over. Writing HW: Write 1 important detail about yourself, and 1 interesting detail about yourself. Explain why the detail is important or intersting.
