Welcome Back!

Greetings all you girls & guys in 634, 734, and 834. September ushered in the beginning of school, and we have begun our studies. So far, we have read and analyzed the book of the month, The Brand New Kid in School, by Katie Couric Class. We have also reviewed book genres, have done book sorts, and have begun working toward our 25 book campaign. 634, you are becoming familiar with the rituals and routines in the school and in your classes. You have learned how to create a 'literary letter.' 734, you will begin your Gary Soto author study this week. 834, you have begun your Walter Dean Myers author study. Homework is as follows:

Tuesday, 9/9/08
634: In RSB, write a literary letter on your book.
734: Read your independent book. We will continue the Periodic Assessment tomorrow.
834: Highlight the important details in Walter Dean Myers' Bridges excerpt.
Complete and revise your constructed response in your WSB.

Wednesday, 9/10/08
634:(We did not meet for ELA today. We had computer training!)Read on in your book.
734:(We had Periodic Assessment today.) Read on in your book.
834:(We had Periodic Assessment today.) Read on your book. Bring in highlighted important details in Bridges.

Thursday, 9/11/08
634: Read your independent reading book. Literary Letter and signed parent letter for those who did not do their homework. Periodic Assessment continues tomorrow.
734: Write the theme of your independent book on a post-it.
834: Complete Wrting Prompt #2 in Writer's Source Book.
