Greetings all you girls and guys in 634, 734, and 834. We are in the middle of May, and are forging ahead in our genre studies. 634, you will be finishing The Crossing this week and will write your Response to Literature on the Gary Paulsen books you've read. 734, you will continue to read and analyze the works of Virginia Hamilton. 834, you will continue to read and analyze the works of Ray Bradbury. Additionally, all of you will be working on the reading goal you have assigned yourselves, based on the third Periodic Assessment. Homework is as follows:

634: Write a summary of The Crossing in your "Annotated Bibliography." Include your reaction to the characters, setting, and plot. How Manny's conflict was resolved? How was Sgt. Locke's conflict resolved? Also, on loose leaf, write a question for Chapter 12 that taps into your reading skill goal, then answer it. (For example, write a 'main idea' question, a "facts & details' question, a figurative language question, a character analysis question, or a drawing conclusions question - then answer it.)
