Greetings all you girls and guys in 634, 734, and 834. The ELA test is behind us and we have returned full force to our genre studies. 634, you have begun to write your Katherine Paterson literary letter. 734, you have begun your children's nonfiction unit. 834, you are finishing your proposal letter and continuing your research for your Journalistic Feature Writing. Homework is as follows:

January 26, 2009
634: Write your introductory paragraph on loose leaf.
734: Read for 30+ minutes. Brainstorm for good children's books topics.
834: Revise and rewrite your proposal letter. Complete cover sheet for proposal letter.

Tuesday, January 27, 2009
734: Read for 30+ minutes in your nonfiction book. Write 3 more facts that you learned in your Reader's SOurce Book.
834: Final proposal letter due Thursday. Continue to paraphrase your research.

Greetings and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all you girls and guys in 634, 734, and 834. For the next few weeks, though we will continue with our genre studies, we will be focusing on reading and writing strategies that you will have to use for the NYS ELA test which will begin January 21st.
