Greetings all you girls and guys in 634, 734, & 834. This week as we usher April in, we are well into our genre studies. 634, you will be reading about the Iditarod in Woodsong this week, and beginning your second Gary Paulsen independent book. 734, you will complete and present your Executive Summary. 834, you will continue to work on your own historical fiction story, as well as reading your historical fiction novel. Homework is as follows:

April 4, 2008
634: In Reader's Source Book, write a "Reporter's " summary of Woodsong.
734: Bring in completed final draft of Executive Summary. Complete cover sheet questions in your packet.
834: Final historical fiction story due. Be prepared to present it in class on "author's chair."
April 3,2008
634: Write a "seer's" entry in your Reader's Source Book, by making a prediction for days 9 - 17 in the Iditarod.
734: Revise,edit, and rewrite your "Introduction," "Issue," and "Discussion" componenets of your executive summary on loose leaf.
834: Revise and edit Draft#3 of your historical fiction story, using a different colored pen.
April 2, 2008
634: Review your Paulsen book for test tomorrow. Complete entries in your source books, including literary letter.
734: Continue your exectuive summary. Final due on Monday 4/7/08.
834:Continue working on your historical fiction story. Read on in your historical fiction book #2 per pacing calendar. Make an entry in your IRL.
April 1, 2008
634: Review/ complete your Paulsen book. You should have a literary letter in your RSB for your Paulsen book - as well as an entry in your Annotated Bibliography. Paulsen book test on Thursday 4/3/08.
734:Continue to work on your Executive Summary. Final draft due Monday, 4/7/08.
834: Have draft #2 completed on loose leaf.

634: Be a 'seer' by writing a paragraph in your Reader's Source Book about what you think will happen to Gary Paulsen in the Iditarod. Bring a poem to the 'poetry cafe' tomorrow.
734: Choose your strongest introduction for your executive summary and revise it on loose leaf.
834: Complete second draft of historical fiction story on loose leaf.
