As we usher in October, we are all immersed in our genre studies. 634, you have begun to read and analyze memoirs and short stories, and have begun to draft your own narrative account. 734, you are reading and anayzing Gary Soto's pieces, and responding to them with reflection. 834, you are reading, analyzing , and responding to the works of Walter Dean Myers. Homework is as follows:

734: Read for 30+ minutes. Make an entry in your IRL. Be a sketcher for your independent reading book.
834: Read for 30+ minutes. Make an entry in your IRL. Add to "Harlem" Noticings in your RSB. Include sights, sounds, and smells of Harlem.

634: Complete Draft #1 of your story onto loose leaf. Read for 30+ minutes and make an entry in your IRL.
734: Read for 30+ minutes, and make an entry in your IRL. On loose leaf, write a paragraph explaining which Gary Soto piece you like best, so far.
834: Read for 30+ minutes and make an entry in your IRL. Be a set designer for you independent book.
