634, you are finishing your Katherine Paterson Author Study, and have begun your Response to Literature assignment.
734, you have begun to research and take notes on your Children's Nonfiction topic.
834, you as well have begun to research and organize your Journalistic Feature Article.
Homework is as follows:
12/1/06634: In Writer's Source Book, write the summary for
Jip: His Story using the story outline. Write a summary for
Bridge to Terabithia and your independent Katherine Paterson book as well. (These should be three separate entries.)
Complete the Reader's Response worksheet for an independent book you read.
734: Modify outlines and continue your research. Read on in your independent book!
834: Finish "Fight for Suffrage" article. Write and answer your own constructed response question on loose leaf.
11/30/06634: In Reader's Source Book, make an entry entitled: "Themes for
Jip: His Story." List the themes that are explored in the book.
734: Continue to do research for your children's nonfiction book and paraphrase your notes in Writer's Source Book.

Week of 11/20/06

634, 734, and
834. Thanksgiving is just a few days away, and before long, we will be ushering in December.
634, you will be finishing up your Katherine Paterson Genre Study this month.
734, you will begin to research and organize your notes for your nonfiction children's book.
834, you will begin to think about and then research your topic for your journalistic feature article. In addition to this 6th, 7th, and 8th grades will be analyzing ELA type tests and test questions. We will all be looking at ELA tests as a 'genre.' Homework is as follows:
11/22/06634: Finish reading your Katherine Paterson books. Make an entry in your IRL or SWBS chart for each chapter. Your charts will be collected on Monday. You should also make an entry in your Annotated Bibliography in your Reader's Source Book for the book you finished.
734: Continue to read and research your topic for your children's nonfiction book. Read in your independent book.
834: Begin to research information for your Journalistic Feature Article. Also, complete the worksheet on "6 Questions- J.K. Rowling." As always, read in your independent book.

Bridge to Terabithia this week, and moving onto another Katherine Paterson book.
