Week of 6/19/06
Greetings 634, 734, & 834! Summer is officially here this week -Wednesday to be exact. We are feeling the heat already, and are wrapping up our genre studies. 634 - you will be compiling your collage of vignettes into a book by the end of this week. 734 - you will be drafting and sharing your myth by the end of this week. And last, but not least - 834, you will be sharing your Ray Bradbury Response to Literature on the "Author's Chair" this week. Wednesday - graduation pizza party from your teachers to you! Thursday, we'll see you at the prom! Friday - goodbye to our 8th grade graduates. Have a great summer and good luck in high school.

6/23/06
634: Complete collection of vignettes.
734: Complete final draft of myth and fill out student rubric.
834: Read! Write! Graduate with pride. Have a great summer. GOOD LUCK in high school.

634: Revise your vignettes for content and mechanics. Be prepared to type draft #2 on laptops.
734: Revise your myths and prepare to present them. (Melanie, good job presenting your myth today. Your use of dialogue made your characters come alive!)
834: (We did not meet today. See you tomorrow.)

734: Revise and rewrite your myth on loose leaf.
834: Read in your independent book. Be a philosopher.

634: Complete your story vignette in Writer's Sourcebook.
734: Complete your myth in Writer's Souucebook.
834: Read in your independent books. Write a philosopher's question based on what you are reading.
6/19/06
634: Complete your 'Place Vignette' in your Sourcebook. Review your previous vignettes to make sure they all include a snapshot, thoughtshot, and dialogue.
734: Outline the plot of your myth in your Sourcebook. Don't forget to include the conflict.
834: Final draft of Bradbury Response to Literature is due.
