Week of 6/12/06

Greetings 634, 734, and 834. It is hard to believe we only have two more weeks before the summer vacation - and yet we have so much to do! 634, we have begun studying the 'vignette' as a genre study. We will be reading, analyzing, and mimicking Sandra Cisneros's vignettes in The House on Mango Street. 734, we will be continuing our mythical play presentations, as well as broadening our exposure to myths. By the end of this week, we will begin to write our own myths! 834, we are more than half way through with our Ray Bradbury Response to Literature. He is most certainly a unique author!

Homework is as follows:

6/16/06
634: Complete your character sketch vignette in your sourcebook.
734: Write the purpose or lesson of your myth.
834: First completed Bradbury draft on loose leaf is due on Monday 6/19/06.

6/15/06
634: Complete your poetic prose vignette in your sourcebook.
734: Write a paragraph describing your mortal character in your myth. (What does he/she look like? What does he/she do? What is his/her character flaw?)
834: Complete Ray Bradbury Response to Literature (paragraphs 1 - 7) in sourcebook.
6/14/06
634:Finish seed piece in sourcebook.

6/13/06

634: Write a paragraph describing your first impressions of Sandra Cisneros's vignettes. What do they remind you of in your life?.

834:Write and revise paragraphs 5 & 6 of your Bradbury Response to Literature in your sourcebooks.

6/12/06
