Week of 6/19/06
Greetings 634, 734, & 834! Summer is officially here this week -Wednesday to be exact. We are feeling the heat already, and are wrapping up our genre studies. 634 - you will be compiling your collage of vignettes into a book by the end of this week. 734 - you will be drafting and sharing your myth by the end of this week. And last, but not least - 834, you will be sharing your Ray Bradbury Response to Literature on the "Author's Chair" this week. Wednesday - graduation pizza party from your teachers to you! Thursday, we'll see you at the prom! Friday - goodbye to our 8th grade graduates. Have a great summer and good luck in high school.

Week of 6/12/06
Greetings 634, 734, and 834. It is hard to believe we only have two more weeks before the summer vacation - and yet we have so much to do! 634, we have begun studying the 'vignette' as a genre study. We will be reading, analyzing, and mimicking Sandra Cisneros's vignettes in The House on Mango Street. 734, we will be continuing our mythical play presentations, as well as broadening our exposure to myths. By the end of this week, we will begin to write our own myths! 834, we are more than half way through with our Ray Bradbury Response to Literature. He is most certainly a unique author!
